Adopted in 2013, the Comprehensive Regional Water Plan outlines the actions needed for increasing water supply in combination with metering, to manage demand.
Water metering will help the SCRD and water users improve their leak detection abilities as well as better understand water consumption. Water metering is widely recognised as an industry best practice. Many cities and regional districts across Canada have already made the move towards metering.
